Face to face with the tiger
In one video, a tiger can be clearly seen, and the person filming—a Chinese man—can be heard saying, “Look, look, the tiger is coming.”

The tiger remained curious but never made any sudden movements or displayed aggression.
Another clip shows fishermen using flashlights while searching for the tiger along the riverbank at night.

The tiger stared at them before taking one of their backpacks and leaving.
Despite these alarming encounters, authorities have yet to release an official statement.
Netizens’ reaction
“In my village, my village is really not safe anymore, hmm, may it be kept away (from harm).”Netizens’ reaction
The videos have ignited discussion among netizens. Some pointed out that the tiger poses a risk to the safety of nearby villagers.
“In my village, my village is really not safe anymore, hmm, may it be kept away (from harm).”

“Its habitat is gone, it doesn’t know where to go anymore… walking here leads to people’s houses… going there leads to people’s farms… I think it has encountered humans quite often now.”

Others took a more humorous approach, jokingly calling it an Oyen and also the tiger from Maybank.
“Whoever has a loan with Maybank, better pay it off quickly. It’s aggressively searching for you.”

“This Oyen is so stubborn… I’ve already told him not to go out, and it’s tiring to keep buying Whiskas.”
