The popular Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi has released an upbeat theme song featuring its viral pygmy hippo, affectionately known as “Moo Deng” or “Boing Boing Pig.”
The zoo’s new song, titled “Moodeng Moodeng,” is available in Thai, English, Chinese, and Japanese, appealing to Moo Deng’s international fanbase.
“Moo Deng come play!”
The catchy 50-second tune, with playful lyrics like “Moo Deng Moo Deng, boing boing boing / Mommy mommy, play with me,” showcases a montage of Moo Deng’s endearing antics.

In the video, Moo Deng can be seen bouncing playfully around the zoo, interacting with caretakers, and enjoying time with her mother, Jonah.
Renowned Thai composer Amara crafted the song, which is distributed by the prominent Thai record label, GMM Music.
Legendary Icon
Moo Deng, born on July 10, captured public affection with her feisty, animated expressions, especially when prodded by zookeepers or bathed.
This unique behavior, combined with her energetic hops, challenges the stereotypical image of hippos and has made her an internet sensation.
The pygmy hippo’s Instagram account has gained over 610,000 followers, and her expressive face has inspired countless memes and brand promotions. TIME magazine even described her as a “legendary icon.”

Zoo is crowded with Moo Deng’s fans
The viral success of Moo Deng has attracted large crowds to the Khao Kheow Open Zoo, located about two hours from Bangkok in Pattaya.
Zoo officials estimate daily visitor numbers now average between 3,000 to 5,000, many drawn by Moo Deng’s lively personality.
To celebrate her popularity, the zoo has introduced a line of themed merchandise, from apparel to home decor.
Chode Joy, the zoo’s director, mentioned that the increased revenue from Moo Deng’s fanfare will support conservation efforts, particularly the breeding of endangered species like the pygmy hippo.
Native to West Africa, pygmy hippos are at risk, with only 2,000 to 3,000 remaining in the wild due to habitat loss and poaching.
The Moo Deng theme song is now available across major streaming platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music, allowing fans to enjoy her playful charm worldwide.
