A couple in Singapore who had just tied the knots two months ago saw their marriage hit the rocks following a series of domestic abuse.
This comes after the wife, Warathip Aunkaew, slapped her husband for having a drink with friends and assaulted him again a month later.
Slapped husband for drinking with friends
According to court documents and Shin Min Daily News, Warathip and her husband Toh Ming Fu Noah got married in April 2025.
On June 5, Toh contacted the police after Warathip struck him on his face multiple times at the first floor of Sultan Plaza at around 1.33am.
Investigations later found that Toh had gone to a friend’s pub at Sultan Plaza and shared around 10 to 12 bottles of alcohol with five friends.
When Warathip met up with Toh at 1:12am, she questioned why he was there before slapping him several times, which then triggered a verbal fight.
‘Let’s die together!’
Not long after, Toh, who was said to be intoxicated at the time, grabbed and pulled Warathip towards the lift and pressed the lift to level 8.
When the lift doors opened at level 8, Toh said words to the effect that they could “die together”.
He then wrapped both his hands around Warathip’s body and dragged her towards the window. Warathip tried to escape his iron grip but couldn’t do so.
Toh then pushed the window open and attempted to lift Warathip off the ground towards the open window for about 30 seconds—an action meant to “cause alarm to her”, according to the prosecutor.
Like the previous time, Warathip again tried to escape but was unsuccessful.
For a time, Toh kept Warathip cornered by the window before he eventually decided to let her go and leave the scene with her.
Toh suffered small cuts on his lips and redness on the left side of his face and neck, while Warathip was unharmed.
Husband assaulted again
Unfortunately, the physical abuse didn’t stop there as Warathip once again assaulted Toh a month after the previous incident.
Based on charge sheets for another charge taken into consideration, she allegedly punched Toh in the face and chest, causing him to suffer facial and chest wall contusions.
In court, Warathip pleaded guilty to one count of voluntarily causing hurt and was fined S$2,800 (approx. RM8,700), while another charge was taken into consideration during sentencing.
