When it comes to being creative in catching criminals, no other police force does it best than Thailand’s, where officers have no qualms putting on costumes for the job.
This was what a group of police officers did in order to catch a notorious criminal by pretending to be dancers, with male officers wearing dance costumes to disguise themselves.
Not a dance-off
According to Thaiger, police in Tha Luang district, Lop Buri, carried out a sting operation in order to capture a suspect linked to drugs and illegal online gambling.
Before carrying out the arrest, they disguised themselves as dancers to blend into the scene and successfully captured the suspect known as Mekha Fa-wap-wap.

Aside from the arrest, police also seized 53 methamphetamine pills, over 200 small plastic bags believed to be intended to be used in distributing drugs, and a mobile phone allegedly linked to illegal online slot machine activities.
Mekha currently faces charges for possessing Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell, as well as operating an illegal online gambling platform.
He is now in police custody as police continue their investigations and the seized items were handed over to the local police station as evidence for legal action to be pursued.
This isn’t the first time Thai police made headlines for their disguise, with one taking place back in February which saw them posing as a lion dance troupe to catch a thief.
