Taiwanese shipping giant Evergreen Marine Corp. has caught the attention of Malaysian workers by awarding its employees a whopping 20-month year-end bonus.
According to NowThis, a Taiwanese media outlet, this news was announced on the final day of 2024, creating excitement within the logistics and shipping industries.
This year, the company’s impressive performance has paved the way for this generous reward.
In Q3 alone, Evergreen recorded consolidated revenue of NT$152.79 billion (approximately RM20.85 billion,), reflecting a 109.84% year-over-year growth.

Net profit after tax reached NT$61.91 billion (approximately RM8.45 billion), a staggering increase of 182.60%, with an earnings per share (EPS) of NT$28.75 (approximately RM3.92).
Cumulatively, the first three quarters saw a revenue of NT$347.76 billion (approximately RM47.56 billion) and a net profit of NT$108.75 billion (approximately RM14.84 billion), representing annual growth rates of 67.98% and 239.40%, respectively.
Known for generous bonus scheme
Historically, Evergreen has been known for its lavish bonuses.
In 2021, employees received 40 months’ worth of bonuses, which increased to an extraordinary 45–50 months in 2022 amid record-breaking profits.

Adding this year’s 20-month bonus, Evergreen staff have collected nearly 120 months’ worth of bonuses over the past four years.
