A commuter who kicked an elderly woman during a confrontation on the Taipei MRT has apologised to the public.
The passenger also confirmed visiting the police station to give a statement.

The long-haired passenger took to social media to express regret over the controversy sparked by the viral incident, saying they were sorry for causing public debate.

The post also confirmed that a full statement had been made to the police.
I have already gone to the police station and completed the necessary records. I apologise to everyone for the trouble caused,” the commuter wrote online.

According to the Yahoo News, the passenger explained that the kick was an act of self-defense, claiming they had been struck repeatedly on the knee.
