The Taiwanese commuter who went viral for kicking an elderly commuter on the MRT has found herself back in the spotlight but this time, for her fashion sense.
Flaunted her shopping haul
On Sept 30, the commuter, who goes by Fumi on Instagram, uploaded a photo showing a paper bag from Japanese designer brand Homme Plissé Issey Miyake.
This was the same bag she had casually handed to a nearby commuter before standing up to kick the 73-year-old woman during the heated confrontation on the train.
Captioning the photo with, “Since everyone is curious about this product,” Fumi posed in a colourful shawl with the designer bag by her side.
When local media first noticed her account, Fumi only had about 2,600 followers. Days later, that number exploded to more than 18,000.
The comment section has since been flooded with netizens praising her “elegant” style and boldness during the incident.

Others claimed they had also encountered the elderly woman, surnamed Tseng, who often picked fights and demanded seats from passengers on the MRT.
Aftermath
In a dramatic twist, Tseng was arrested on Oct. 1 for allegedly stealing from a convenience store.
Videos circulating online showed police leading her away while she carried the exact same bag seen during the MRT clash.
Reports also revealed this wasn’t her first brush with the law — Tseng had multiple shoplifting cases in 2023 and was previously sentenced to 55 days in prison, but never reported to serve her time.
