In a bizarre daylight robbery, a durian vendor in Puchong was left shocked after a thief on a motorcycle targeted his stall—not for money, but for durians.
The incident, which occurred around 5pm, was caught on camera by the stall owner and later shared on Xiaohongshu.
Only steal the most expensive durians
According to the post, the thief made off with only the most expensive durians—Musang King, which are priced at over RM60 per kilogram.
The vendor, who operates the durian stall in Puchong, explained that he didn’t resist out of fear that the suspect might be armed with a knife. Instead, he chose to film the incident as evidence for the police.
I’ve been in business for so long, but I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s truly disheartening,” he wrote in the post.
Came once, then came back again
The video shows a man calmly filling a white sack with Musang King durians from the stall. After filling the sack to the brim, he hopped back on his motorcycle and drove off without rushing.
To the stall owner’s dismay, the same thief returned a second time to steal more durians.
“Luckily, no one was hurt,” the vendor shared. “But seeing half the stall emptied like that… I was shaken.”
A police report has since been lodged, and the vendor is urging other stall owners in the area to stay alert.
