[VIDEO] Billows of thick smoke pours out of Pavilion KL after restaurant kitchen catches fire

KUALA LUMPUR–  Several videos showing thick smoke enveloping the roof of Pavilion KL has gone viral on social media, shocking many.

The Kuala Lumpur Operations Center said in a statement that it received an emergency call at about 2:12 pm and successfully extinguished it.

According to the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department, the fire had originated from the duck-roasting section inside Dragon-i Peking Duck Restaurant’s kitchen area.

Pavilion KL: ‘We’re okay!’

In an official statement issued by Pavilion’s management, it said that no casualties were reported.

The mall also assured that all of its shoppers and tenants remain safe and sound.
