Connie Francis, the American pop sensation known for classic hits like Stupid Cupid, Where the Boys Are, and the recently viral Pretty Little Baby, has passed away at the age of 87
Ron Roberts, a close friend and president of Concetta Records, first announced her passing, which was later shared on her official Facebook account.
This is what he wrote: “It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend, Connie Francis, last night. I know that Connie would have wanted her fans to be among the first to learn of this sad news.“
Roberts added that further details would be shared in due time.
Health update days before passing
As reported by Malay Mail, just days before her death, Francis had posted an optimistic update on July 4, saying she was ‘feeling much better after a good night’ following a brief hospital stay.
However, on July 2, she had revealed she was back in the hospital for tests after experiencing severe pain.
