# Singapore PM’s Fluent Malay Speech Praised By M’sians, Indonesian Netizens Also Claim Credit

##### When Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong delivered his speech in Malay, many were impressed.

But the Internet, as usual, had other plans, such as a language debate breaking out in the comments section.

## Some thought it sounded more like Indonesian

A number of Indonesian netizens quickly claimed Wong was actually speaking Bahasa Indonesia.
