The shocking school tragedy in Bandar Utama that claimed the life of 16-year-old student continues to send ripples of grief across Malaysia — especially among those who knew her personally.
One of her male classmates, who attended her wake, tearfully recalled the events of that day and the memories they shared as schoolmates.
“She said she was going to the toilet… but never came back”
He shared that the incident happened while students were taking an exam.
He was in a classroom on the third floor, while she had asked permission from the teacher to go to the toilet on the ground floor.
“About 20 minutes passed and she still hadn’t come back. Then our teacher sensed something was wrong and went downstairs to check,” he said.
“That’s when they saw the suspect in the school courtyard holding a sharp object. The teacher immediately told all of us to stay inside our classrooms.”
He added that the suspect’s brother and several teachers rushed to the scene and managed to restrain him shortly after.
“She was hardworking and loved helping others”
Describing her as a diligent, cheerful, and kind girl who loved helping others, he said she was well-liked by both teachers and students.
She was a warm and caring person. I believe she didn’t even know the suspect personally,” he said.
He admitted that he has been struggling to recover emotionally and has not been able to attend school for two days since the tragedy.
“Once I was Ketua Kelas, she was Penolong”
We were classmates since Form 1. Last year, I was the class monitor, and she was the assistant monitor,” he told China Press.
His words paint a heartbreaking picture of friendship and loss of a girl remembered not just for her studies, but for her kindness, warmth, and willingness to help those around her.
