Angry that he wasn’t successful in borrowing a sum of money from his student’s father, a private tutor in Singapore lashed out by insulting the boy, calling him “stupid as hell”.
The incident was later shared on Facebook by the boy’s cousin, who wanted to warn parents to be more cautious when looking for tutors online.
Asked to borrow RM1,640 from student’s dad
In the post shared to the group Complaint Singapore, the OP wrote that his uncle had come across the tutor via Facebook and hired him to teach his son.
However, after conducting only one lesson, the tutor came his student’s dad asking whether he could be paid three lessons’ worth of fees in advance, which totalled to S$180 (approx. RM591).

According to the tutor, he needed the money urgently as his mother was in the ICU battling leukemia, while he himself was struggling financially.
Aside from the S$180, the tutor also asked for a loan of S$500 (approx. RM1,642), which he promised to return via lesson deductions.
Though sympathetic, the student’s dad expressed doubt about paying in advance and felt it was inappropriate for him to loan the money to a complete stranger, leading him to politely reject the tutor’s request.
‘Your son’s stupid as hell’
To the man’s shock, the tutor became hostile and told him that he would look for other sources of income while suggesting that the man look for another tutor.

When confronted by the man for his behaviour, the tutor proceeded to insult his son, saying that he was “stupid as hell” and that “only God can teach him”.
Even when threatened to have his teaching reputation destroyed, the tutor didn’t flinch and told the man to “go ahead”.
And he didn’t stop there. A photo later showed that the tutor later texted the student himself, where he called him all sorts of names and verbally attacked his entire family too.

Netizens outraged
Needless to say, the tutor’s behaviour didn’t win him any favours among netizens, who called him out for his rudeness and sense of entitlement.

Some urged the OP to lodge a police report as it could be nothing but a scam.
