SG-Registered Car Driver Allegedly Swaps Car Plate Number To Pump RON95

Seriously?
The ongoing saga of Singaporean drivers trying to fill their Singapore-registered cars with RON95 petrol continues with a recent incident that has captured the attention of social media.

In a rather cheeky bid to save on petrol costs, a driver of a Singapore-registered car allegedly attempted a clever ruse while refueling in Malaysia.

The plan? He allegedly replaced his vehicle’s license plate with a Malaysian-registered one to take advantage of the cheaper RON95 petrol.

After filling up his tank, he hurriedly switched back to his original Singapore license plate, but not before raising the suspicions of fellow motorists.

The witness, who shared the encounter on the popular Facebook group Malaysia-Singapore Border Crossers(MSBC) 马新过境者, confronted the driver.

As the reality of being discovered set in, the panicked driver sped off, leaving behind a flurry of questions and a sense of disbelief.

In the post, the OP expressed:

“Dear Singaporean or foreign-registered vehicle drivers entering Malaysia, please bear in mind to follow and respect our Malaysian laws. The guy in the picture changed his vehicle’s plate number from a Malaysian plate to a Singapore plate just to refuel. After pumping, he switched the plate back to the Singapore plate. I saw that and questioned him; he panicked and drove away really fast. I made a police report based on his car registration number. You made a wrong move, bro. Rest in peace, bro.”

The Facebook post quickly gained traction, accumulating numerous comments from netizens, who had plenty to say about the audacity of the driver’s actions.
