A man in Singapore took to social media to let out his dissatisfaction about a “disastrous” date he had with a woman whom he met on a dating app.

Instead of garnering sympathy, netizens slammed the man and woman, going as far as to say that they both were ‘perfect’ for each other (not in a good way, of course).

SG man rants about date, claimed she used him for free meal

In the 6-minute long clip shared to the subreddit r/SingaporeRaw, it showed a man in a white singlet describing his date with a woman whom he met on a dating app two weeks ago.

He shared after talking to the woman for a period of time, she allegedly suggested that they meet up for a meal, adding he had the premonition that she wouldn’t look exactly like her profile photo.

To this shock, he found her to be way more unattractive than he expected, exclaiming: “100% off. Just 100% off, I tell you! Jialat (terrible) leh!

The man then went on to say that women would usually ask their date where they would have the meal, with most expecting to be taken to a fancy restaurant.

Unsurprisingly, the woman was left aghast when he suggested that they have chicken rice at a coffee shop nearby as he was craving for it.

Upon reaching the food court, the woman said she wanted to have chu char (stir-fried dishes) instead of chicken rice, giving the man the impression that she was going to order dishes he could afford like hor fun or mi fen (rice vermicelli).

To his bewilderment, the woman went to order expensive dishes such as steam fish,  fried butter prawns, and kailan (Chinese broccoli), which all came to S$50 (approx. RM165).

Furthermore, the man claimed the woman stared at him and expected him to foot the bill when it came.

Woman reveals she already has a BF

Throughout the date, the man said he tried to strike a conversation with the woman, but she was too engrossed with her handphone and kept looking at it, leading him to conclude that the date was “boring”.

To add insult to injury, the woman later confessed she already had a boyfriend who owned a car, adding that if she were to look for a new partner, he must have a car ready to drive her around.

I’m trying to be very humble and very nice to her and trying to be a gentleman, but this is what happens in Singapore.

“No wonder Singaporean men have given up and are going for girls in Vietnam, Thailand, an Myanmar,” he fumed.

‘Both deserve each other’

In the comment section, netizens didn’t exactly have any nice words for the man, with many sarcastically saying he and the woman deserved each other, no thanks to their behaviour.

‘He ain’t no looker either plus the coffee shop suggestion. I conclude both of them deserve each other.’

‘As a Singaporean guy, I also won’t date this guy if I’m a girl. His ranting just reflects his own insecurities and judgmental personality.’

Some also called out the woman, saying she shouldn’t go on a date if she already had a boyfriend and suspected she was looking for an “upgrade”.
