A heated argument over bumping into each other led to a physical confrontation and the death of an elderly man in Singapore last Sunday (Dec 22).
According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident occurred at Block 805 King George’s Avenue at around 11.35am, where a 69-year-old man died at the hands of his 71-year-old neighbour.

According to the news portal, the two men had bumped into each other at the void deck, leading them to butt heads.

The 69-year-old man, who was reportedly unhappy with his neighbour’s refusal to apologise for bumping into him, turned up at the latter’s door while armed with a stick.
As tempers continued to flare, the 71-year-old man took out a knife and attacked the other man out of self-defense, causing blood to be spilt all across the floor.
Following the attack, the 69-year-old man stumbled downstairs before collapsing at the lift lobby. It was reported that he had a heart condition and was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.

Police later told Shin Min Daily News that based on preliminary investigations, the two men got physical following a verbal dispute.
The 71-year-old man was eventually arrested and is now facing charges of voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means.
Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
