While most would regard funerals as mournful occasions that bring little to no luck, one woman in Penang had a relative’s funeral turn into a stroke of massive luck for her.
This comes after she won a large portion of a Toto 4D jackpot worth millions of Ringgit after betting on a set of numbers she calculated from her uncle’s funeral.
M’sian woman wins part of RM23.9mil jackpot
According to NST, the 65-year-old woman attended her uncle’s funeral several months ago and decided to bet on a set of numbers after the somber event.
“I was the only person who still bet on the numbers (5088 and 2323) persistently even after my late uncle’s funeral which was held a few months ago.
I bought a System 7 ticket because I combined all the numbers I got from the columbarium, hearse and paper house for the deceased,” she explained.
Not long after, she received news that she was one of the winners of a RM23.9mil Toto 4D jackpot, where RM11,035,121.25 was divided between her and another person.
Additionally, her System 7 ticket also raked in another RM1,680 as a System Play bonus.
The massive jackpot was shared out between the woman and three other winners from Johor, Melaka and Selangor respectively.
The woman also said that she believes her win was a “farewell gift” from her deceased uncle.
When asked what she plans to do with her massive winnings, the woman plans to deposit the money into a fixed deposit for the time being.
