M’sian Imported Prego Carbonara Pasta Sauce Recalled In SG Over Spoilage

A batch of Prego Carbonara pasta sauce which was imported from Malaysia has been recalled in Singapore after spoilage was detected.

In a statement issued by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) yesterday (Dec 22), it said that The Arnott’s Group discovered the spoilage which was caused by a manufacturing error.

Signs of spoilage include an unpleasant odour, an unusual colour, a watery appearance, and separated layers of liquid.

It added that the affected batch was produced on Aug. 17, 2022, between 10:18pm and 11:20pm.

The SFA also warned consumers not to purchase or consume the sauce to avoid getting sick.

Those who have consumed the products and are unwell should seek medical attention. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries,” it wrote.

The agency has since ordered the importer, Campbell Soup Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd to recall the product from all supermarkets and stores in Singapore.
