Police: Suspect Arrested For KLCC Valet Parking Theft Had 2 Previous Records For Drugs

The suspect was remanded to assist in investigations
Following the arrest of the suspect in the recent KLCC valet parking stolen car case, police have released more information regarding the suspect.

According to Malay Mail, police arrested a man for stealing an SUV left by a valet attendant at a shopping mall in Jalan P Ramlee on Sunday.

Car went missing without the key

Dang Wangi police chief ACP Noor Dellhan Yahaya  reported that the 31-year-old SUV owner handed his vehicle to the valet at 12:48 pm. The car was temporarily parked on the roadside. About 10 minutes later, the SUV was found missing, despite the keys still being with the valet.

The car owner, an interior decorator, was informed of the theft when leaving the mall at 1:20 pm and immediately filed a police report.

Apprehended the suspect

At 2:35 pm, a police patrol located the stolen SUV at USJ 1 Avenue, Subang Jaya. The suspect, aged 58, tried to flee but was apprehended.

“The suspect, aged 58 and with two prior drug offence records, will be remanded to assist in investigations under Section 379A of the Penal Code,” said Noor Dellhan.

The case gained attention on social media after the victim posted about the incident, noting that the SUV was tracked using its GPS device.
