A 2-minute and 20 second video showing a 12-year-old girl being assaulted by a fellow classmate has gone viral on Facebook and Twitter yesterday (June 28).
The incident was reported to have taken place at an apartment in Kelana Jaya.
In the video, one of the girls clad in a yellow shirt pulled viciously the victim’s hair and repeatedly slapped and stomped on her, forcing her to cower at a corner to protect herself.
Meanwhile, two other girls could be heard laughing and applauding in the background as they watched their friend assault the victim.

According to a statement by ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin, the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarter received a report from the victim at 9:26 pm on the same day.
“The victim was bullied by her schoolmates aged 12 to 13 years old as one of them was jealous over her relationship with her stepbrother.
“She also suffered injuries to her head and body following the assault,” he said.

The video was believed to be recorded by one of the suspects at the scene before it was uploaded to Whatsapp group and her own Instagram account.

The incident will be investigated under Penal Code Section 323 for volutarily causing hurt, which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine of RM2,000, or both upon conviction.
Fakhrudin also urged the public to stop sharing the video as the case is still under investigation.
