Wan Azizah, the former deputy prime minister, celebrated her 70-year-old birthday yesterday (Dec 3). Her husband, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, devoted a birthday post to his beloved wife.
In a Facebook post, he posted a photo of his wife taken during his first media conference as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister on Nov 24 along with birthday wishes.
Anwar described Wan Azizah as a strong, compassionate, and dedicated lady, wife, and mother who was relentless in offering love and care.
“Without Azizah by my side, I would not have been able to undertake such a great responsibility at this time,” said Anwar.
“I am eternally grateful.” I pray that Azizah is always in His care. Happy birthday.”
Wan Azizah and Anwar married on Feb 28, 1980 and are blessed with six children.
