Perikatan Nasional’s planned Hari Raya Aidilfitri takbir broadcast on TV3 has been cancelled, according to a recent Twitter post by Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, the leader of Bersatu’s Armada Youth.
The broadcast was scheduled for five minutes yesterday night (21 Apr), but it was cancelled just 10 minutes before it was supposed to air.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal claimed that TV3 cancelled the broadcast even though they had already paid for it.
However, in an email statement released by TV3, it was explained that the broadcast could not be played due to technical issues that could not be avoided.
TV3 apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured them that the payment would be refunded in full as soon as possible.
Earlier, Perikatan Nasional had uploaded a poster of the scheduled takbir broadcast on TV3 at 10:20 pm.
The cancellation of the broadcast was an unexpected disappointment for those who were looking forward to watching the annual Hari Raya Aidilfitri takbir, which marks the end of the month-long fasting period for Muslims in Malaysia.
The cancellation also left many wondering about the cause of the technical issues that led to the cancellation.
