The Perak state government has announced a Special Raya Financial Aid (BKK Raya) of RM1,500 for all 13,582 state civil servants.

This initiative aims to provide extra financial relief ahead of the festive season.

Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, stated that the increased bonus was made possible due to the state’s careful financial management.

According to Berita Harian, he also highlighted that rising revenue from non-radioactive rare earth element (NR-REE) mining played a role in securing the funds.

Additionally, political stability has encouraged more investment into Perak, further strengthening the state’s financial position.

We are grateful to the Deputy State Financial Officers for managing the finances well. When we discussed the appropriate amount for the BKK Raya, we decided on RM1,500.

“This is a blessing from Allah SWT, as Perak is fortunate to have mineral resources. Stability in politics has also played a crucial role, attracting more investors to expand their businesses here,” he said.

The BKK Raya will be distributed on 24 March and will benefit not just civil servants but also state-appointed teachers, Orang Besar Jajahan (OBJ), and daily contract workers.

This initiative is expected to cost the state government RM10 million.

Higher bonus compared to last year

This year’s bonus amount marks an increase from RM1,000 given last year, demonstrating the state’s improved financial position.

Last year, 995 village heads were also included in the aid distribution.

Saarani made the announcement during a special iftar event attended by around 1,000 people, including key state officials such as State Secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Datuk Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, and State Legal Advisor Datuk Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin.

With Raya fast approaching, this bonus is expected to provide much-needed financial relief to thousands of civil servants across the state.
