Prime Minister Ismail Sabri has officially announced that Parliament will be dissolved effective today (Oct 10), paving the way for the 15th General Elections to take place within the next 60 days.
In a special address to Malaysians at 3pm today, Sabri said that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had given his consent to dissolve Parliament.
This comes after Sabri met with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Sunday before His Majesty left for the United Kingdom.
It was also the second meeting between Sabri and the Agong within a span of four days, adding on to rife speculation that Parliament would be dissolved, reported The Star.
