Ever since Kuantan got mentioned in the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen by a character named Kento Nanami, the buzz surrounding this major city in Pahang has been increasing in recent weeks.
In fact, an exco from the Pahang state government is now looking to further elevate Kuantan’s popularity on the international stage by potentially building a memorial specially for Nanami.

Memorial for Nanami in the works?
According to Sinar Harian and BFM, state exco Leong Man Yu pointed out that fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have marked a spot on Google Maps as a memorial for Nanami.
“The fans have also submitted a proposal to build a memorial. As such, the state government will look to contact the creators of Jujutsu Kaisen for their approval.
We are actively seeking an endorsement from the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen with the aim of transforming Kuantan into a global tourist attraction for anime enthusiasts.

In case you’re not up to speed on what has been going on, Nanami is seen mentioning that he wants to go to a beach in Kuantan before his death in the 42nd episode of the series.
