In episode 42, which aired on 24 Nov, Nanami expresses his desire to retire in a small cottage on the beaches of Kuantan, Malaysia.

In the storyline, after surviving a battle with enemies and reappearing at Shibuya Station with numerous injuries, Nanami speaks of leaving Japan for Kuantan in Malaysia. “Malaysia, yes, Malaysia! I will go to Kuantan.”

Nanami then describes his dream of building a house on the desolate beach and finally having time to read the piles of books he has accumulated at home.

However, shortly after this mention of “Kuantan,” the character tragically meets his demise, leaving fans both moved and heartbroken.

Many netizens shared their mixed feelings on social media, simultaneously joyful for the mention of “Kuantan, Malaysia” in a globally famous anime and sad over the beloved character’s fate.

Regardless, the latest episode has sparked curiosity among Malaysian fans about the exact location of the “Kuantan Beach” referred to by Nanami.

Some even created a memorial site for Kento Nanami on Google map.
