Previously, we reported that cosmetics mogul and entrepreneur Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, better known as Dato Seri Vida, had her house and luxury cars seized by the court after she reportedly failed to settle a debt.
Now, new details have emerged regarding the assets which have been seized and slated to be auctioned should she fail to resolve the debt in time.
727 of Dato Seri Vida’s assets at risk of being auctioned
According to The Star, a total of 727 items belonging to Dato Seri Via have been earmarked for auction over the RM1,060,285 debt she owed to a sub-construction company named Ah Design Communication.
Among these items include a Kawai piano, two four-seater sofas, chandeliers, sofa pillows, a standing clock, a PlayStation Five (PS5), a Nintendo Switch, gaming tables, a treadmill and a spin bike, a DSLR camera and flowerpots.
As for the luxury cars, they consisted of three Toyota Vellfire and a BMW.
The seizure process took place over the course of five hours at Dato Seri Vida’s home at Meru Heights, where it was witnessed by sub-contractor Mohamad Taufik Kamarul, his lawyer Samir Zainal, and the police on Monday (Nov 25).
Should she fail to settle the debt within 14 days, all of her seized assets will be up for auction.
It was reported that Dato Seri Vida had owed the sub-contractor money for six years and made no attempts to repay it despite the latter’s efforts.
Following the seizure, she took to Instagram to ask for space to deal with the matter in a “lawful and professional manner.”
