No one likes it when their personal belongings go missing, especially when it’s an object that costs them lots of money.
A Malaysian recently took to social media to share how his motorcycle helmet was unceremoniously “borrowed” by a complete stranger, only to have it possibly vanish for good.
Leaves note after ‘borrowing’ helmet
In a viral Threads post, Heus wrote that he had parked his motorcycle at a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya.

When he returned, he saw that his helmet had disappeared completely and found a note being left behind by the supposed “borrower”.
The note read:
‘Hey brother, I’m sorry but I had to borrow your helmet for one night. Tomorrow, I will return your helmet to the security guard. My helmet also got stolen.’
However, the note did little to assuage Heus’ frustration, who wrote: “I was about to head home when I found this note. How am I supposed to get back to Klang now?”

No sign of helmet
In a brief conversation with WeirdKaya, Heus said his initial reaction when he saw the note was one of shock and anger, but it then evolved to that of amusement as he “couldn’t help but laugh over the incident.”
When asked whether he had gotten his helmet back, Heus said he has yet to recover it and plans to get himself a new one.
Netizens were also tickled by the note, with one asking whether the guard house would be flooded with motorcycle helmets the next day.

Another cheekily suggested that Heus keep the chain reaction going by “borrowing” another helmet and passing the note on.

Meanwhile, a netizen shared an AI photo of the stranger who “borrowed” Heus’ helmet, which showed him holding on to several helmets.
