Sometimes, the smallest gestures are the ones that hit the hardest.
A Malaysian teacher was recently touched after finding a handwritten note on her table, together with a RM1 note from one of her students.
While the amount may seem small to some, the child’s simple words were enough to melt hearts online.
‘Today, let me treat you instead’
In the note, the student, identified as Adam, thanked his teacher for always spending money on him.
Written in a child’s handwriting, the note read:
Assalamualaikum cikgu.
Terima kasih sebab selalu belanja saya. Hari ini biar saya belanja cikgu pula. Tak banyak tapi saya ikhlas.
Dari Adam.”
In English, it roughly translates to:
Peace be upon you, teacher.
Thank you for always treating me. Today, let me treat you instead. It’s not much, but I’m sincere.
From Adam.”
Along with the note, Adam left a RM1 note for his teacher.

Teacher says she was touched by Adam’s kindness
The teacher later shared in the comments that Adam is only in Year 2, but is already a polite, kind and empathetic child.
“Adam is a very good boy, polite and full of empathy even though he is only in Year 2,” she wrote.
She added that she was deeply touched by the small gift and planned to frame the RM1 note as a lifelong memory.
“May Adam continue to grow into a righteous child and succeed in this world and the hereafter,” she said.
Netizens touched by the RM1 gesture
The post quickly warmed the hearts of netizens, with many saying that the value of the note was not in the amount, but in the child’s sincerity.
One netizen wrote that Adam’s manners were the result of good upbringing by his parents, and possibly his teachers too.
Another commented: “Words and manners are expensive.”
Others also left prayers for Adam, saying they hoped he would continue to grow up kind, pure and successful.
