Nikkei Group Asia (NGA), a group company of Nikkei Inc. and Japan’s largest economic media, and Sunway University, Malaysia’s leading private university, have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a long-term cooperative relationship.
This partnership will see Nikkei Group leveraging Sunway University’s education business to enhance education across Asia.
Additionally, Sunway University will integrate services from NIKKEI ASIA, a prominent economic news platform under Nikkei Inc., such as Nikkei Asia, scoutAsia, and Nikkei Bizruptors, as part of classroom teaching and reference materials.
The two parties will collaborate as needed in the development of Bizruptors business case studies, and NGA will provide the knowledge and services needed to expand Sunway University’s business school. The two parties will also cooperate in co-sponsoring events.
President of Sunway University, Professor Sibrandes Poppema said, “Sunway University is thrilled to embark on a long-term partnership with Nikkei Group, which will enable us to leverage NIKKEI ASIA’s esteemed resources and expertise, fostering a dynamic educational environment that cultivates critical thinking and innovation.
Together, we aim to propel Asian education to a higher level.”
Dean of Sunway Business School, Professor Lim Weng Marc echoed the sentiment, “Our collaboration with Nikkei Group marks a significant milestone in our commitment to cultivating knowledge exchange and innovation in Asia.
“We look forward to working hand-in-hand with Nikkei Group to forge a path towards impactful research, insightful learning experiences, and meaningful contributions to the region’s education landscape.”
Managing Director of Nikkei Group Asia, Mr Ryu Ohsumi added, “I believe Nikkei’s close partnership with Sunway University will create a generation of curious minds to be the voice of the Asian century.”
