Twitter user @Adibleesimmons shared two photos of massive crowds outside a school gate with the caption: “Please don’t let MCO 3.0 happen.”

As you can see from the photos, none of the parents practised social distancing and was (literally) rubbing shoulders with each other. Netizens were rather concerned over this situation after the photos went viral.

According to Oriental Daily News, these photos raised doubts over whether parents were capable of complying with the SOPs laid out by the authorities.

Current SOPs state that Standard One students must attend school without the company of their parents in order to adapt to the new environment and prevent overcrowding. This has caused many parents to be worried and gather outside to make sure their children were alright.

Najib urged parents to be an exemplary model to the younger people and gave several suggestions to the authorities on how to deal with similar situations.
