M’sia’s Nasi Goreng Kambing Named On ‘100 Worst Rated Foods’ List

Blasphemy.
For Malaysians, food is a topic that brings a great sense of pride whenever it’s mentioned so it’s no wonder that we will get triggered when it gets painted in a negative light.

Well, it seems that Malaysians now will be gnashing their teeth after a local dish made its way into the ‘100 Worst Rated Foods’ list recently. What?!

Nasi goreng kambing appears on ‘100 Worst Rated Foods’ list

In a list released by international food travel encyclopedia TasteAtlas, it revealed that a Malaysian dish known as nasi goreng kambing was given the dishonor of appearing on its ‘100 Worst Rated Foods in the World’ list, where it was at the 48th place.

According to its five-star rating, the dish earned itself a dismal 2.6 star rating, making its performance even worse than Indonesia’s nasi tim ayam, which was ranked 72nd.

However, Malaysians can take a slight sense of comfort in knowing that at least they weren’t ranked at the top two spots, which were taken by Iceland and USA respectively.

At the No.1 spot was Iceland’s Hákarl, which is made up of cured shark flesh (namely Greenland shark and other sleeper sharks), where it undergoes fermentation for up to three months before hung up to dry for another four to five months.

Coming in at second place was the ramen burger, which consists of everything you’d expect in a burger, except that the bun is made out of fried ramen noodles.

TasteAtlas said that the ranking was based on 396,447 ratings, out of which 273,250 were recognized as legitimate by the system.
