Update: According to Namewee’s Facebook page, he has successfully retrieved his YouTube channel under the effort of his team.
TAIPEI – Controversial local artist Namewee’s YouTube channel, which has amassed 3.27 million subscribers so far, was recently hacked and renamed as Russian swear words.

A simple Google Translate revealed that the new name of his YouTube channel consists of several F-bombs and not suitable for general viewing.

The hack has also resulted in a massive loss of video content, causing Namewee to lose 6 billion views in a single day.
His manager told ETtoday that they are now contacting YouTube to sort this matter out and are hoping that the content can be fully retrieved. Namewee has yet to publicly respond to the incident.
According to the ‘About’ section, Namewee created the channel in 2006 and has uploaded hundreds of videos since, with the latest featuring his collaboration with Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao in a song about stray animals.
