Following the backlash over the initial design, which many criticized as “ugly” and “cheap-looking,” the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) has unveiled a bolder, fiercer tiger stripe pattern for the official uniforms of the Malaysian contingent heading to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The revamped design now features a sleek black background with striking yellow tiger stripes prominently displayed on both the front and back of the jackets.
“The new design aims to embody the spirit of the tiger, a symbol that has been synonymous with the Malaysian contingent since its debut at the Southeast Asian Games in Manila in 2005. The hope is that this fierce tiger spirit will inspire the nation’s athletes to roar in Paris,” President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia announced in a statement.

OCM believes this new, brighter design will not only highlight the identity and unity of the contingent but also symbolize strength, agility, and bravery as they compete on the world stage.
For the gold-collared T-shirts, the same design and motif are retained, with the OCM logo in the colors of the Jalur Gemilang, paying homage to the national flag.
OCM extends heartfelt thanks to Yonex Sunrise Malaysia, which has been the official apparel sponsor for the Malaysian contingent for the past decade.
