M’sians To Enjoy 50% Discount On Traffic Summonses Starting Tomorrow

Payment can only be made at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Getting a traffic summon can often be annoying and a hassle as it requires the offender to head over to court and pay the fine or risk getting jailed over unpaid summonses.

However, there is a good piece of news for those who have yet to pay their traffic summonses as the government will be offering a 50% discount starting tomorrow (Dec 8) until Sunday (Dec 10).

50% discount on traffic summonses from Dec 8-10

In a statement by Bukit Aman Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, he said that car owners in the Klang Valley who have outstanding summonses will be able to enjoy a 50% discount from Dec 8 to 10.

However, the payment can only be made at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium from 9am to 4pm on 8 December, and from 9am to 6pm on 9 and 10 December.

This initiative was made in conjunction with the 3-day celebration of Anwar’s government being in power for a year.

On top of that, there are certain offenses that aren’t eligible for the discount, such as:

  • Accidents
  • Court cases with arrest warrants (or still under trial)
  • Non-compoundable offences

Mohd Azman also advised Malaysians to check their summon status beforehand on the MyBayar web portal or the MyBayar app, which can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play Store in order to prevent congestion.
