A baby elephant was successfully rescued by the Kelantan Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) after falling into a drain on Sunday.
According to a video on X, the rescue operation, involving eight members of the Jeli District Perhilitan team, was documented and shared widely, gaining significant attention online.

The team used a rope attached to an excavator to pull the baby elephant out of the drain.
While the team was struggling to save the baby elephant, the mother elephant was waiting patiently at the side, not moving an inch as her calf was being saved.
After being rescued, the mother and her calf were seen heading back into the nearby forest.

Kelantan Perhilitan Director Mohamad Hafid Rohani confirmed receiving a report regarding the incident.
The video, which is 1 minute and 20 seconds long, was uploaded on X by the Perhilitan Semenanjung Malaysia and has garnered over 109K views in less than a day.
