M’sians Build ‘Wall Of Fame’ With Taped Cockroaches Complete With Death Dates & Times

A legacy.
If there’s one thing that can unite Malaysians across all backgrounds, it’s this: the moment a cockroach starts flying, everyone suddenly remembers they have somewhere else to be.

While most of us would rather scream and run for our lives, a group of warehouse staff in Malaysia decided to face their fears head-on, with tape, markers, and a very questionable sense of humour.

Recently, a TikTok user named Nik (@totallynotnik) shared a bizarre yet hilarious scene she came across while visiting a warehouse and it has since gone viral.

In her video, dozens of dead cockroaches can be seen taped neatly to the top part of a wall near the ceiling.

But it doesn’t stop there, each one is properly labelled with the date and time it died, turning the space into a full-blown “Wall of Fame” for fallen roaches. Think museum exhibit… but make it pest control.

Nik revealed that some of these cockroaches had been up there for as long as two years.

She also pointed out that the taped-up insects weren’t attracting ants, likely thanks to how well they were sealed in place.

Unsurprisingly, the internet had a lot to say. The comment section was filled with people both horrified and impressed by the creativity (and commitment).

“Have you written a research paper yet, sis? I wanna see the methodology and results of this cockroach experiment,” one user joked.

Speaking to us, Nik clarified that she wasn’t a staff member at the warehouse, but just a guest dropping by to join them for iftar.

“Actually, I was just a visitor! I was only there to iftar at the warehouse,” she said. “The one who started the idea was one of the male staff members. I bet he’s not even the slightest bit grossed out!”

Recalling her own reaction, Nik said she couldn’t stop laughing when she first saw the wall.

“As a visitor, I found it super funny. It made me want to record and share it, but I honestly had no idea the video would blow up like this,” she added.

As for the detailed time and date labels?

“I think they just did it for fun, to remember when and what time they caught the cockroach,” she said.
