They say luck only comes around once, but for a housewife from Perak, luck decided to pay her a visit not once, but twice.
This comes after she was named the winner of a massive Sports Toto’s jackpot in the Aug 1 draw, three years after she won RM1.4 million, reported NST.
Stayed consistent
In a statement, the 50-year-old woman said she and her husband had been buying Lucky Pick numbers consistently for three years after both of them became jobless during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
During that period, she would travel to places both she and her husband had visited in their younger days, adding that she bought a Lucky Pick ticket after stopping by Sitiawan for lunch.
Those were some of the hardest years of our lives. My husband never gave up on me and always encouraged me to keep moving forward.
“We never imagined that a simple stop during one of our trips would change our lives forever,” she said.
Money plans
On Aug 1, Sports Toto released its results and announced that the numbers 5900 and 6900 were drawn, resulting in the woman winning RM12,946,225.55.
The woman said she got to know of the news when her husband was following the live draw results on his mobile phone.
“At first, I thought we had read the numbers wrongly because it seemed impossible. Winning the jackpot once was already a blessing, but winning it for the second time is beyond anything I could have imagined.”
She added that she plans to use the prize money as a retirement fund and looks to set aside a portion to support underprivileged communities and charitable causes.
“We have experienced difficult times ourselves, so we understand how much a helping hand can mean.
“I hope this blessing will allow us to give back and make a positive difference.”
