Living away from home can feel vulnerable, especially when male strangers are allowed to enter a women-only rental house freely.
A woman who had just moved into a new rental unit in Kota Damansara shared her frustration online after discovering her housemate frequently brought her boyfriend and other male friends into the home.
Expected privacy, got disappointment
She explained that she initially chose the unit because the advertisement specifically stated it was for female tenants only, which she thought would ensure privacy and comfort.
However, her expectations were shattered when one of the housemates began inviting men into the property.
I thought I would have more privacy, but turns out one of them always brings her boyfriend and male friends over,” she wrote.

She also highlighted that the tenancy agreement clearly mentioned that no overnight visitors were allowed, making the situation even more frustrating.
Past experiences added to her worry
The woman said her concern was worsened by her previous renting experience, where a former housemate used to do the same thing.
“Back at my old place, there was someone who always brought her boyfriend home and he would even sleep in the living room. I know how uncomfortable it feels, and I don’t want to go through it again,” she added.
At her current unit, she felt especially uneasy because the men often hung around the kitchen area, which she had to pass by whenever going to the toilet.
For now, the woman said she is still “observing the situation” and has not yet informed the property agent or landlord.
