A woman was left feeling undecided on whether she should fight for her relationship or let it go following a troubling prediction by a fortune teller.
She poured out her anxiety and fears in a lengthy anonymous confession, where she recounted the events leading to the fateful meeting at a Chinese temple.
Separated by distance
In the confession, the woman wrote that her boyfriend of five years works in Ipoh, Perak, while she previously worked in Teluk Intan before moving to KL.
She added that prior to moving to KL, she and her partner rarely had any opportunity to meet up due to physical distance, which would now be further exacerbated by her working in another state.
‘My dad won’t let me’
The woman wrote that she asked her boyfriend to drive her down to KL, help take some items from her Teluk Intan home, as well as accompany her in her journey of settling down to her new life.
To her shock, her boyfriend declined to do so, simply saying: “My dad won’t let me go to KL.”
This left the woman feeling puzzled and confused, saying: “I really didn’t understand at all. I wasn’t asking him to do anything dangerous. I just wanted him to drive me to KL.
“And we’ve been together for so many years. Why does he still need his father’s permission for something like this? Also, I couldn’t help but wonder how his father actually views our relationship.”
Troubling prediction
What made things all the more unsettling for the woman was when her father, a deeply superstitious man, took her to a Chinese temple to seek guidance on her relationship from the deities.
There, she was given a shocking prediction by a fortune teller, who said that her boyfriend was destined to not be her future husband.
“When I heard that, I was honestly terrified as we’ve been together for almost five years. If he really isn’t the right person for me, then what do all these years of love and commitment mean?
“At the same time, if I break up with him just because of what someone said, I feel like I would be acting too hastily. I really don’t know what I should believe anymore,” she lamented.
‘Run, girl’
Netizens were in full support of the fortune teller’s prediction concerning the woman’s boyfriend and urged her to ditch him as soon as possible.
‘Dated for 5 years but (he’s) not willing to drive you to KL and even uses his dad as an excuse. It’s obvious that you need to break up even without seeing the fortune teller.’
