In a heartwarming show of appreciation, a kind Malaysian daughter recently went above and beyond to surprise her parents with a brand-new car, replacing the second-hand Kancil they had been using for almost eight years.
A thoughtful gift
Sharing the heartwarming video on her Instagram account, @kakpaten_kp, Fatin reveals the priceless moment when her parents had no clue about the surprise gift awaiting them that day.
In the video, she tearfully explained that she had wanted to surprise her parents with a car for a long time.
She revealed the car to her parents by pretending to create TikTok content, but little did they know that a large, shiny brown car was waiting for them at that exact place and time.
Her parents were visibly overwhelmed with emotions, shedding tears and expressing deep sentiment.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Fatin, affectionately known as Kak Paten, told us that inspiration to purchase a new car for her parents struck when she noticed that the Kancil they had been using for eight years was consistently breaking down, especially in the last two years.
The 34-year-old makeup artist and stylist said that before buying the second-hand car, the entire family used to travel to our hometown on a sand truck driven by their father, as during that time they didn’t have a car yet.
“It was a challenging situation, but my mother, through her Laksa Mee business, managed to purchase the green Kancil with the earnings,” she explained.
She noted that it was only after all of her siblings got married that her mother finally had a car.
Now, in the video capturing the surprise, some eagle-eyed viewers noticed Fatin’s mom rwearing a large bracelet and decided to share their two cents.
Fatin graciously addressed the comments, explaining that she personally purchased the jewelry for her mother last year with the hard-earned money from her efforts.
Taking a moment to share her thoughts, Fatin said, “I’m just so proud to make both my parents happy.”
And to everyone out there, her message is clear: “Never hesitate to invest in spending for our parents and family.” she said
