A local woman’s visit to Langkawi left her feeling burnt (literally) after a one of the performers accidentally dropped a fire baton on her leg.
Taking to Instagram to share the horrifying experience, Vivian Dominique shared how it all came to a fiery end during a fire performance at a popular bar named Kalut Bar.

In the clip, Vivian wrote that she was sitting at the second row and enjoying the fire performance. However, she never expected the performers to actually walk through the crowd while holding fire batons in their hand.
As one of the performers walked through the crowd and swung the fire baton around his shoulders, he suddenly lost his grip on it and dropped it on Vivian’s leg before quickly picking it back up again.
Despite being stunned for a moment by the fiery mishap, Vivian managed to get herself to the toilet and ran cold water across her burnt leg for 20 minutes. Thankfully, she was a doctor and knew how to carry out first aid for herself.
Claimed no one came to her aid
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Vivian said she suffered burns to her thigh and arm as a result of the accident.
I later confronted the bar but the staff kept saying that the performers were street performers who fully were dependent on tips, and that the bar wasn’t associated with them.
“However, the performer who dropped the fire baton did approach me after the performance and apologised for the incident,” she said.
She also said that no one, including staff from Kalut Bar, came to her aid, adding that she had to ask for directions to the toilet before tending to her injuries.
Bar responds
WeirdKaya reached out to Kalut Bar for further comment on the incident, who gave an entirely different take on the story.
According to them, they claimed that they took Vivian to the toilet and checked on her injuries. They also said they offered to bring her to a clinic but she declined.
The bar also asserted that they “know what we’re doing” and refused to elaborate further.
