Traffic jams are common enough, but being forced to stop due to an elephant “roadblock”?
That’s exactly what happened to a driver in Gerik, Perak, and it’s an experience she’s unlikely to forget.
Netizen Aida Azmi recently shared a 1-minute-37-second TikTok video of her shocking encounter with a wild elephant on a road in Gerik.
With a touch of humor, she described it as the “scariest roadblock ever.”

In her video, Aida wrote, “I never thought the roadblock today would be Pak Jah (the elephant).”
The clip, set to an eerie soundtrack, shows the elephant casually strolling past three stationary cars in front of Aida’s vehicle.
At one point, the curious creature even approached her car, gently rocking it with its head before moving on to inspect the vehicles behind her.
The video ends with Aida showing two prominent dents on her car window frame, likely caused by the elephant’s tusks.
Drivers should avoid sudden movements
Thankfully, the elephant displayed no aggressive behavior, and no injuries were reported from the incident.
This isn’t the first time wild elephants have been spotted on this stretch of road in Gerik. Drivers are often advised to remain calm and avoid any sudden movements when encountering these gentle giants.
While Aida’s encounter left her car with a few dents, she—and many others online—are thankful the situation ended peacefully.
