While the rainy season has brought abundant precipitation and cooling weather for Malaysians, it has unfortunately also attracted giant reptiles in search of warmer places.
A woman in Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur, had a shock of her life after a huge python found its way into her home via a hole at the kitchen.
M’sian woman spots giant python crawling into her house
In a 44-second TikTok video shared by the woman named Seri, it showed the giant python hanging from a hole located the the kitchen ceiling.
According to the video caption, Seri wrote that she was washing her baby’s milk bottle to make a fresh one when she spotted the python crawling on the wall near her sink.
Upon closer inspection, it became evident that the reptile had made its way down from the roof through a partially open of the kitchen ceiling.
The sight of the snake clearly unnerved Seri, where she wrote that her heart “nearly fell out” as a result.
Firefighters unable to capture snake
Speaking to Mstar about the incident, Seri said it took place at 1am last Tuesday (Oct 31) and that she called for her father and husband for help upon seeing the python.
“My father, who caught snakes before, took a parang to strike the python but it quickly retreated back into the hole in the ceiling.
“Out of panic, I quickly contacted the fire department for assistance in capturing the snake,” she said.
Unfortunately, the firefighters were unable to locate the python, where they concluded that the reptile might have escaped through the roof.
With the python still out of the prowl, Seri told the Malay daily that she still lives in fear and now stays with her young daughter 24/7.
“On top of that, I also have four pet cats inside their cages. Although I’m worried, I still need to pluck up courage,” she said.
