The problem is, they’ve just finished SPM and are already demanding a salary of RM2,300,” she wrote, expressing her frustration.
She pointed out that these individuals also lack any work experience to justify such demands.
She further shared an encounter where a school leaver confidently replied, “I’ll think about it first,” after being told about the salary offer.
She also highlighted the reality of today’s job market, saying, “The basic salary now is RM1,700, and it’s already good to have overtime and allowances.”
Her post struck a chord with many Malaysians, receiving over 1,200 reactions and sparking more than 100 comments.

The post sparked a lively debate, with netizens chiming in to share their own experiences and thoughts:
“I’ve got a degree with loads of experience, and the government’s basic salary is still only RM1,700 now. What are kids these days thinking?”

“Even those with degrees can’t guarantee RM2,300. If an SPM leaver has loads of experience, then maybe they can demand RM2,300.”

“When I first started with a diploma, the basic salary was RM2,500. I later left my job to run my own business, and I’m grateful to still be doing well. But honestly, don’t demand so much, kids. You’ve just finished SPM and have no experience yet.”
