‘Where’s The Proof?’ — M’sian Woman Slams Perodua For Claiming It Offered To Buy Back Her Bezza

"I want solutions, not to pick a fight or make (the issue) viral."
Yesterday (Jan 3), we reported of how a woman was devastated to find her newly purchased Perodua Bezza breaking down just 8 hours later.

Shortly after her Facebook post went viral, Perodua has since released a statement regarding the matter, where it presented its side of the story.

Perodua: ‘We proposed to buy back her car’

In a statement by Perodua’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) JH Rozman Jaafar shared on the car company’s Facebook page, he said Perodua had been in “contact communication” with the woman since last October when the issue first came to light.

Since then, we have taken several actions to resolve the matter including by offering her courtesy car and we have proposed to buy back her car.

“Perodua has also assured the customer that her case is being prioritized, and we hereby deny any allegation that no action has been taken to resolve the issue,” he said, adding that a “thorough investigation” was currently underway and its details will be revealed soon.

‘Where’s the proof?’

However, Perodua’s response didn’t sit well with the woman, who later wrote a lengthy Facebook post to share her thoughts about it.

In the post, Nagakanni Subramaniam refuted Perodua’s claim that it had offered to buy back her spoilt Perodua Bezza.

Perodua’s solution was for me to buy another car by submitting another loan for it. Was there a guarantee in black and white saying my first car will be bought back and that I don’t have to pay back the first loan? None at all.

“It’s been more than two months and there has been no detailed information on how the car will be bought back or paying back the loan,” she said.

Nagakanni added that while Perodua was more than welcome to purchase back the car if they truly wanted to, she urged them to back it up with solid evidence.

‘Don’t make a media statement just to quell the situation and not solve my issue at all. I want solutions, not to pick a fight or make (the issue) viral,” she wrote.
