Along with a wide array of food being offered at Ramadan bazaars, there has also been a lot of disappointments and disgusting discoveries made by customers who buy food from these stalls.
This time around, a woman took to TikTok to share how she felt “scammed” by a vendor who sold her fungus-covered kuih which can lead to dire health consequences if consumed.
M’sian woman finds fungus on kuih
In a TikTok video posted @syabiebieyhalymm, she showed viewers a stomach-churning discovery which has since garnered more than 500,000 views so far.
As seen in the clip, she peels back a clump of colored sticky rice placed on top of the kuih, where it shows the surface of the kuih having grey-whitish spots — a telltale sign of fungus.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Syabiebiey said she purchased the kuih from a shop she usually buys side dishes for her meals.
She also said she was deeply shocked and disappointed by the kuih as she never expected it to be in such a bad state.
‘Doesn’t look fresh’
In the comment section, netizens were repulsed by the sight of the kuih and expressed disgust.
‘The kuih must have been there for 2 days due to not being sold…eww.’
‘Must have been last week’s kuih.’
