A woman was left flabbergasted after she was charged a hefty price for a plate of char koay teow which came with a piece of ‘raksasa’ (monster/giant) prawn at a cafe in Ampang.
In a Threads post, the woman posted a photo of her meal, which showed the prawn placed on top of the noodles.
Several pieces of sotong (squid) were also spotted in the dish.

Aside from the char koay teow, the woman also ordered ‘Ayam Gepuk Nasi Nusantara’ and two glasses of water, which had bottomless refills.
This brought the bill amount to RM113.20, which was inclusive of a 10% service tax.
In the caption, the woman admitted she didn’t check the menu prices before ordering and expressed shock over the char koay teow, which cost RM69 alone.
She also joked that the prawn used in the dish was of “premium” quality.

Reactions
In the comment section, there were a handful of netizens who were floored by the pricing, with one slamming it as “daylight robbery”.

Only one netizen came to the cafe’s defense by showing a picture of the ‘raksasa’ prawn, which was at least three times bigger in size than regular prawns.
