Life is never easy for some, especially those who have to take up extra jobs to sustain themselves but never divulge it to anyone.
However, when those struggles come to light, there will always be a group of kindhearted individuals who are ready to offer help.
Such was the case for an elderly woman who was seen selling boxed meals at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA2) to pay her cancer treatments.
Sold meals at KLIA2 to fund cancer treatment
In a tweet dated Mar 2 by @izx2471, he wrote that he was approached by the woman, who asked him whether he wanted to buy food from her.
However, he declined as he was uncomfortable and wary of strangers.
When he saw the woman walking away while pulling a trolley cart packed with boxed meals, he changed his mind and called her back, where he then bought two packets of nasi ayam merah from her.
As the both of them talked, the OP discovered that the woman was selling the meals as a means to fund her cancer treatment.
Despite her age, he remarked that she was still strong and filled with determination to earn an honest living. He also called upon netizens to help her if they were to see her at KLIA2.

Netizens rally together to help
The tweet has since been viewed 2.7 million times and gathered more than 13,000 retweets so far, where it saw netizens expressing sympathy for the woman’s plight.
One netizen wrote that she bought three boxed meals from the woman, adding that she’s usually sighted at KLIA, KLIA2, and Mitsui Outlet Park.
Another who met the woman on the train wrote that she lives alone and is childless.
Thankfully, someone managed to track down the woman’s bank account number and posted it in the thread so that others can make donations.
