A Malaysian woman recently shared a confession about having an affair with her husband’s close friend years before both of them eventually married other people.
In an anonymous post shared on XUAN on the Facebook page, the woman revealed that the incident happened during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period three years ago.
According to her, the man was a close friend of her husband and frequently visited her husband’s bar to drink, chat, and watch football matches with their group of friends.
At the time, the man was already in a relationship and separated from his girlfriend due to long distance caused by pandemic restrictions.
Started off with casual conversations at the bar
The woman explained that their relationship initially began as normal conversations among friends at the bar.
However, over time, the two gradually became closer and eventually found themselves spending more time talking to each other alone.
One day, the man told her he planned to return to his hometown if the MCO continued any longer.
Although it sounded like an ordinary statement, the woman admitted it unexpectedly affected her emotionally.
A few days later, she decided to drive all the way to his hometown just to see him.
Pair spent time together alone during hometown trip
During the trip, the man reportedly brought her around to enjoy local food and tea.
The woman said she parked her own car at a homestay before getting into his vehicle, where the pair spent the day travelling around together alone.
According to her, the outing felt like a “natural little getaway”.
Later that evening, they returned to the homestay, where they chatted over tea and snacks.
At one point, both of them laid down side by side in the room after turning on the air conditioner because of the heat.
The man then reportedly hugged her gently and asked why she had driven such a long distance to see him despite knowing he already had a girlfriend.
However, the woman said nothing happened between them that night apart from him kissing her forehead before leaving.
Relationship eventually crossed the line during Malacca getaway
After returning home, both of them continued acting as though nothing had happened.
The man still regularly visited the bar to spend time with her husband while she remained nearby.
However, things later changed after he got drunk one night and invited her on a spontaneous trip to Malacca the next day.
Although she initially hesitated, the woman eventually agreed to go.
She described the trip as one of the happiest moments they shared together, saying they behaved “like a couple who had just started dating”.
The pair spent time walking around Malacca, taking photos, and later checked into a hotel room where they bought beer and spent the night together indoors.
That was also when they finally crossed the line.
The woman claimed that neither of them forced the relationship to happen or deliberately planned it beforehand.
Instead, she described it as “two people who got close to each other at the wrong time”.
Both later married their respective partners
Eventually, the man returned to Singapore for work while the woman prepared for her own marriage.
Not long after, both of them got married to their respective partners.
Although they occasionally still run into each other, she said things are now very different.
“He stands beside his wife, while I stand beside my husband,” she wrote.
Despite everything, the woman admitted the memories never truly disappeared and still quietly remain in her heart.
She ended the confession by expressing hope that both of them would continue living happily in their own separate lives.
